Rolled Ice Cream - Banh Mi Go

I am a sucker for all kinds of ice cream novelties; if you roll it, I will smoke it - I mean eat it! Yes, eat it, I meant eat it...the ice cream that is...not that other thing that I don't even know what you're talking about. Is it getting hot in here?

Well it would appear Winnipeg is going through a boom of Asian ice cream places and my insulin production is working overtime. I thought I had a cool video of how they made the ice cream but some kid and his dumb haircut keep blocking the view. Instead, you'll have to settle for me describing it to you in words like a poor person.

Ok, so some dude spills a highly viscous creamy liquid onto a metal surface that I'm assuming is extremely cold and you should definitely not put your tongue on it. Actually, as a general life rule, you should just keep your tongue to yourself...unless a millennial asks you really nicely not to. The ice cream man then places your desired topping (in my case strawberries) on top of the liquid. He takes 2 flat sided spatulas, but metal ones that look more like putty knives, and chops up the toppings while incorporating them into the liquid - which at this point is beginning to congeal and take on the consistency of proper ice cream. This mixing process goes on for some time until the ice cream is thinly splayed out on the metal plate, the man then scrapes the ice cream, forming tidy little rolls. You know what - just YouTube that shit - or better yet, get your friends together and go to Banh Mi Go because it's pretty damn tasty.
