Suspend your Disbelief
Imagine waking up at 5am, driving 1 hour and 29 minutes (1 hour and 49 minutes if you include a very necessary stop for McDonald's breakfast, and you ordered 2 hashbrowns cuz you're not a peasant, but they only gave you 1 and you drove away and then you bet your ass I went back for my missing particle board of potatoes), then finally arriving at the Pinawa Suspension Bridge just as the sun was peeking out above the trees...to what I can only describe as the most underwhelming structure of all time. I have seen more impressive frameworks made of Popsicle sticks by blind 7 year olds at summer camp.
I know I live on the Prairies and having visited the Capilano Suspension Bridge (70 meters above the water) in BC I knew it wouldn't be as spectacular but I hadn't prepared myself to lower my expectations to a mere 4 meters. Like, you couldn't even kill yourself properly off this bridge.
Having said this, Pinawa is a lovely community filled with lovely people and you should check it out - there are beautiful hiking trails and a fun little dam where you can bring an inner tube and float peacefully down the river. The bridge would be cool if you a.) have never seen a bridge before or b.) are under 10 years old.
*Sad shuffle of disappointment as Charlie Brown music plays in background*
Stairway to Heaven? Nah, brah - I wouldn't have a wedgie in Heaven
